Fenomenologi Komunikasi Pemimpin Adat dalam Penetapan Status Orang Asli Papua di Kampung Gamta Raja Ampat

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam pengalaman komunikasi pemimpin adat dalam penetapan status Orang Asli Papua (OAP) di Kampung Gamta, Raja Ampat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan perspektif fenomenologi untuk menyingkap makna pengalaman subjektif pemimpin adat dalam praktik komunikasi adat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik purposive sampling, serta dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi fenomenologis guna menemukan esensi pengalaman komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi adat dalam penetapan status OAP tidak sekadar merupakan proses informasional, melainkan praktik sosial yang sarat makna dan berakar pada dimensi kultural, genealogis, dan moral. Proses tersebut merepresentasikan integrasi antara pengetahuan genealogis, otoritas adat, dan tanggung jawab kolektif dalam menjaga legitimasi identitas masyarakat. Selain itu, komunikasi adat berfungsi sebagai mekanisme utama dalam memverifikasi keabsahan status OAP, sekaligus sebagai sarana reproduksi legitimasi sosial, penguatan otoritas pemimpin adat, dan pemeliharaan kohesi sosial dalam masyarakat Kampung Gamta.
